Pieter joined TFN in 2023 and has since been involved in a large number of projects ranging from the execution of equity fundraisings to FOAK financing analysis, debt advisory, consultancy and venture building. His clients are active across a wide range of industries in the (energy) transition such as battery technology, tidal energy, offshore wind, solar but also but also EV charging or DAC technology.

With nearly two decades of experience in the financial industry, Pieter has built a deep expertise in leveraged finance, structured finance, and private equity financing across diverse sectors and geographies. Prior to joining TFN, his last role was head of ING’s Acquisition Finance activities in the Benelux and member of both the Global Acquisition Finance Management team and the Wholesale Banking NL Management team.

As experienced international financier, he brings a strong blend of structuring, advisory, and leadership skills. Over the course of his career, he has been involved in more than 100 transactions, including scale-up fundraisings, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations, privatizations, and restructurings, giving him a profound understanding of client and transaction dynamics.

Pieter holds a Master of Science in Economics from Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, the Netherlands and completed Corporate Governance and Behavioural Finance courses at Harvard University.

Driven by a strong belief that the challenges of the economic transition can be overcome with persistence, Pieter is passionate about supporting dedicated founding teams who demonstrate their high levels of perseverance every day

Outside of work, Pieter is trying to master the art of raising teenagers and in between he hopes to find time for the occasional run, a kickbox training or a round of tennis.  

Pieter leads the Dutch activities for TFN and is based in Amsterdam.
