Carel joined TFN in 2025 and has since supported clients in preparing for debt and equity fundraisings, and strategic decision support for ‘First-of-a-Kind’ and capital intensive ‘as-a-service’ projects. His clients operate in sectors ranging from recycling technologies to grid optimization & monitoring, sustainable aviation, and heat battery technologies.

Before joining TFN, Carel worked at DTE Capital Partners, a Growth Equity and Buy-out fund focussed on investments in commercially proven technologies contributing to a more sustainable planet. During this time, Carel developed expertise in investment theses building, and explored investments in energy storage solutions, sustainable agriculture, and energy management systems.

Carel additionally spent seven years at EY’s Strategy and Transactions practice where he specialized in Financial Due Diligence, leading project teams to support Corporate and Private Equity clients in their investment decision making processes. During his time at EY, Carel worked on more than 70 transactions internationally and in the Netherlands.

Carel holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Masters Degree in Accounting from Tilburg University. He is a CFA Charterholder, and actively contributes as Chairman of the CFA Private Equity and Venture Capital Committee in the Netherlands. Carel is a board member of the Netherlands INSEAD Alumni Angel Investing Club.
